Notes from the final session of the Pro Stock Shootout at Woodburn Dragstrip's 14th annual Pro Stock Invitational
listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed
time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mark Whisnant Runs 7.012/198.45, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.042/198.32, Was #3
Right Lane: Mark Pawuk Runs 9.465/93.21, Now #8; No Prior Run
7:09 p.m. Current weather conditions: 97 degrees, 25 percent relative humidity, the barometer 30.12
inches, with a track temperature of 125 degrees. Whisnant picks up from his earlier effort. Pawuk's team had
to thrash to make it for this session after hurting something during testing. After a decent 1.049 60-foot time,
Pawuk is out of it before half-track.
Left Lane: Mike Corvo Jr Runs 12.754/68.51, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.046/198.06, Was #5
Right Lane: Ron Krisher Runs 7.056/198.58, Now #6; Best prior run: 11.001/80.29, Was #9
Corvo shuts off early, Krisher drives through some tire shake. 1.073 short time for Krisher.
Right Lane: Gene Wilson Runs 7.022/198.85, Now #4; Best prior run: 12.065/79.15, Was #10
Wilson finally gets down the track. 1.047 short time.
Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.958/200.04, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.044/199.20, Was #5
Right Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 9.169/102.78, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.965/200.40, Was #1
Johnson with the best run of the Shootout. Anderson was with him at 330, but had to get out of it.
Johnson was 1.050 at 60 feet, Anderson 1.044.
Left Lane: Scott Geoffrion Runs 7.021/199.33, Now #5; Best prior run: 12.963/68.00, Was #12
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.941/201.07, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.967/200.00, Was #3
WJ with a big top end charge to move to the top of the field. Geoffrion overcomes a 1.078 short time to
lay down a pretty nice run.
Left Lane: Darrell Alderman Runs 6.975/199.33, Now #5; Best prior run: 12.664/76.25, Was #12
Right Lane: Kurt Johnson Runs 6.961/198.89, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.142/169.77, Was #9
KJ with the best 60-foot time of the round, a 1.035. He will be in the run-off for third place, as only
Larry Morgan is left in the lanes. Alderman just misses getting into the third place run-off.
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.979/198.23, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.291/194.59, Was #11
Morgan needs to run 6.965 or better to be a part of the third place race, or a 6.958 to bump Allen Johnson
from the championship race.
He just misses, but a nice run nonetheless. 1.042 short time.
Right Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.197/181.70, Now #12; No Prior Run
For the second straight year, Treble is here testing on his Pro Stock Motorcycle. Very nice run in the
heat. He had a 1.085 60-foot time.
