The team at Eagle Racing Engines would like to take this opportunity to congratulate several
customers who have enjoyed phenomenal success in the month of July. Eagle Racing Engines is an
established competition engine builder, based in Loudon, TN for over 25 years. Over that time Eagle
Racing Engines has built a reputation for quality, dependable, and powerful racing engines. Eagle
has powered thirteen major World Champions, and the list of winning customers grows every weekend.
The Eagle Racing Engines in-house team of Chad and Cory Hedgecock kicked off the month of July with
a dominating performance at their home track, Knoxville Dragway. There, on July 4, both Chad and
Cory had two cars remaining in competition in the quarterfinal round. The Hedgecock's actually
accounted for four of the five cars remaining in competition when rain forced an end to the days
events!
At London Dragway's Quick 8 show on July 10, Eagle customers put on a great performance, with Tyler
Jenkins taking low qualifier honors, and Stephan Stringer taking the victory. The same weekend, at
the Tenn-Tuck Triple Crown event in Bowling Green, KY, young Cory Hedgecock continued to go rounds
all weekend, capping a strong showing with a semi-final finish in Sunday's $10,000-to-win event.
The weekend performance, along with his runner-up finish earlier in the season, move Cory into
third place in the Tenn-Tuck Championship points standings with just one weekend remaining on the
schedule.
The weekend of July 17-19 proved to be a great one for several Eagle customers. Tyler Jenkins
continued his mastery of the Quick 8 category with a wire-to-wire victory at Knoxville Dragway.
Jenkins took the pole position with his Eagle Racing Engines powered machine, and drove to the
Quick 8 title.
Meanwhile, Jeff Pittman claimed the Top Sportsman victory at the IHRA Sportsman National event at
Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. Near Louisville, KY, the Outlaw Series event at Ohio Valley
Dragway was dominated by Eagle Racing Engine customers as David Helton took the win over the Rick
and Walter Thornsberry team.
As if that weren't enough, the weekend's most outstanding performance was turned in by Eagle
customer Chris Johnson at Mountain Park Dragway's "Hillbilly Nationals." There, he won the Friday
gamblers race, and was runner-up in Friday's 2nd chance race to Eagle's own Cory Hedgecock. In
Saturday's $20,000-to-win main event, Johnson once again emerged victorious, while Chad Hedgecock
made a semi-final appearance. Chris Johnson then completed the "hat trick," winning his third major
event of the weekend with a victory in Saturday's $5,000 bracket (in which Cory Hedgecock advanced
to the quarterfinals). Chad Hedgecock was the runner-up in Sunday's Quick 32 event, while Cory
again advanced to the quarterfinal round in Sunday's $5,000 race. All told, there was at least one
Eagle Racing Engines customer in five of the six Top ET final rounds contested over the weekend!
Eagle Racing Engines would once again like to congratulate these successful customers on their
recent accomplishments, and thank each and every Eagle customer for their business and patronage.
