Bazemore is 3-1 against Burkart going into this round. Burkart makes that 3-2 in an odd looking
race. It appeared all the holes went out on one side of Bazemore's car and it drove him
towards the wall. He did a great job of saving it. Burkart was right for the picking as he
smoked the tires at half track and pedaled twice before shutting off.

Hight becomes the 55th different driver that Capps has faced in the Funny Car class. How do
you describe this. Let's just say that Burkart will have lance choice over Capps in the semis.
Both drivers were all over their respective lanes and on and off the pedal. Lots of smoke and
lots of sideways in BOTH lanes. At one point I thought Hight was going to knock the wall down.
He didn't but still got nipped at the end.

Force was there for the taking as he started hazing the tires at about 1000 feet. The bad
news for Scelzi was he was smoking the tires hard by half track. Force gets the winner of the
Medlen/Densham pair.

Densham had several different teams working on his racer during the turn around. Lots of
different uniforms. Densham got a pretty good lead on Medlen as the hit but after half track
his racer pulled up lame and The Kid drove around him. Medlen has lane choice over his boss in
the Semi Finals.
