After Mike Janis took his first ADRL pole at the ADRL NATIONALGUARD.com U.S. Drags II two weeks ago
Shannon Davis of Davis Technologies approached the team to expand their one race deal for the
remainder of the season.
"The sponsorship from Davis Technologies is only made possible because of the sanctioning body we
run. With traction control legal in the ADRL it's stupid not to use it. For one, it becomes a
tuning aid for the crew chief. Traction control can help save a run and it should be looked at that
way. For another reason, the fans get to see less aborted runs and a better show," said crew chief
Mike Janis Jr.
The Aeroquip sponsored team of Mike Janis believes that their Davis Technologies equipped Firebird
can continue it's recent performance at the upcoming ADRL Hardee's Gateway Drags II.
"We've been closing ground on our hot weather tune up and have been making progress inside the
clutch can. With the way the weather looks for this weekend we'll need it. Temps in the mid to high
90's definitely call for us to be on our toes. A track can get tricky but I think we'll still be
able to run a good number," said team owner/driver, Mike Janis.
The ADRL Hardee's Gateway Drags II will be held at Gateway International Raceway in Madison,
Illinois on August 7th and 8th.
