Pro Modified Qualifying Notes, Final Session

LAS VEGAS - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 26th annual MOPAR NHRA Las Vegas Nationals powered by Dodge listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.840/220.66, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.812/246.75, Was #14
Right Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 5.783/244.03, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.801/243.94, Was #13

Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 65 percent, barometer 29.85 inches, adjusted altitude 3,421 feet.

Castellana with a good clean pass, but will not improve.

Laughlin kept it hooked up to make his quickest pass of the weekend to go to the number 10 spot.

Right Lane: Chip King Runs 5.775/247.38, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.792/246.66, Was #11

Gray is straight down the groove to go to the number 10 spot.

King with his quickest pass of the weekend, but will stay in the number 11 spot.

Left Lane: Jason Collins Runs 5.800/245.18, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.792/245.81, Was #13
Right Lane: Mike Thielen Runs 5.762/244.07, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.748/245.32, Was #8

Collins with another good pass, but will not improve.

Thielen is straight down the groove, but will not improve.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 5.814/245.85, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.759/248.61, Was #9
Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.767/246.62, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.740/247.57, Was #6

Stavrinos kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to make the quickest pass of the session. Mike Stavrinos' incremental times: 60ft-0.937 sec., 330ft-2.506, 660ft-3.745/198.93 mph, 1,000ft-4.810.

Menholt is straight down the groove with the second quickest pass of the session. He will not improve and will start from the number four spot.

Gray launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session and match his qualifying time.

Banaka with another good looking pass, the third quickest of the session. He holds on to the number on spot for the second time in his career and both have been here.
