ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 41st annual NHRA SuperNationals:

5:03 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.90 inches, adjusted altitude 2,827 feet, track temperature 112 degrees.

Musi got out of the gate a few thousandths before Hoover, but trailed at 60 feet. After that, he pulled back in the lead and stayed there for the rest of the quarter mile.

Janis got really loose at 330 feet and had to back off the throttle to keep from going sideways. Lang was already ahead at that time, having had the quicker reaction time.

Payne went red, Pontieri did not so Pontieri got the win and will move on to the next round.

Burgess was first off the starting line but fell behind right away. Ray took the lead at 60 feet and stayed out in front the whole way down the track.

Smith had this one from start to finish. He gave up lane choice to Ray in the next round.

Castellana got out of the gate first and stayed out in front for the win. He'll have lane choice over Pontieri in round two.

Rowe was quicker out of the gate and quicker on the track, so he got the win. He'll have lane choice over Lang in the next round.

Smith was quicker out of the gate and led to 660 feet. After that, it was Commisso all the way. Commisso won lane choice over Musi in the next round. Both had identical ETs but Commisso had a fester speed.
