ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 31st annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals:

Thompson and Cowie have each won 1 times against the other in prior events.

Cowie gets out of the gate first and starts to pull away. Thompson hits the throttle but has a cylinder or two out all the way through the run.

This is the first time Litton and Thompson have faced each other in eliminations.

Thompson gets out of the gate first, gets about 1000 feet out and it looks like he lost a cylinder. Litton had a hole out at the hit and was falling behind all the way through the run.

Hirata is 1 - 0 against Severance in prior events.

Hirata has a hole out at the hit, gets to half track and it finally picks back up. He starts making up ground but quickly ran out of room. Severance goes right down the groove with another good run to take the win.

Joey Severance's incremental margins: 60ft(0.134), 330 ft(0.209), 660ft(0.208), 1,000ft(0.184). MOV: 0.1743 seconds (approximately 70 feet).

Guest gets the holeshot but Demke reels him in quickly. Demke extends his lead to half track, then Guest starts to make up ground but then falls back again.

Demke will have lane choice over Thompson in the next round.

Gingles leaves too soon and goes red giving the win to Callaway.

Bateman rattles the tires at the hit, ges about 200 feet out and backs off the throttle. Hart went right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend to take the win.

Callaway will have lane choice over Hart in the next round.

Cooper hits the throttle and goes up in smoke. Fricke goes right down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far to take the win.

Fricke will have lane choice over Severance in the next round.

McPhillips goes up in smoke at the hit and has to give up on the run. Thacker moved around a little during the run but makes a decent pass and will have lane choice over Cowie in the next round.
