Pro Stock Qualifying Notes, Session #3

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 32nd annual CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Vincent Nobile Runs 6.761/207.59, Now #10; No Prior Run
Right Lane: V. Gaines Runs 7.209/204.94, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.237/204.91, Was #12

Nobile with his best pass of the weekend, getting the car to the starting line and then making a clean pass to go to the number 10 spot. Vincent Nobile's incremental times: 60ft-1.035 sec., 330ft-2.869, 660ft-4.376/164.17 mph, 1,000ft-5.670. Gaines with tire shake right at the hit, but drives through it and improves, but still gets knocked back one spot by Nobile.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 6.656/208.46, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.829/208.17, Was #12
Right Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 6.650/208.62, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.722/207.59, Was #9

Weather conditions: air temperature 81 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 28.75 inches, adjusted altitude 3,145 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.

These two are side-by-side all the way down the track. McGaha launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number four spot. Chris McGaha's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.787, 660ft-4.277/165.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.564. Laughlin was right there with him to go to the number six spot. Alex Laughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.005 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.286/165.33 mph, 1,000ft-5.571.

Left Lane: Matt Hartford Runs 6.732/206.48, Now #11; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Joey Grose Runs 6.716/207.02, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.715/206.51, Was #10

Hartford gets a number on the board...1:35 p.m. Matt Hartford's incremental times: 60ft-1.011 sec., 330ft-2.828, 660ft-4.337/163.47 mph, 1,000ft-5.636. Grose just a tick off his time from yesterday. Joey Grose's incremental times: 60ft-1.030 sec., 330ft-2.830, 660ft-4.328/164.29 mph, 1,000ft-5.622.

Left Lane: Deric Kramer Runs 6.713/206.92, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.772/206.95, Was #13
Right Lane: Erica Enders Runs 6.721/207.66, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.689/208.26, Was #9

Kramer with his quickest pass of the weekend to move up the ladder a few spots to go to the number 10 spot. Deric Kramer's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.816, 660ft-4.323/164.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.619. Enders drives through some tire shake right at the hit, but will not improve. Erica Enders' incremental times: 60ft-1.020 sec., 330ft-2.833, 660ft-4.334/163.91 mph, 1,000ft-5.629.

Left Lane: Allen Johnson Runs 6.649/207.11, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.674/206.73, Was #8
Right Lane: Jeg Coughlin Runs 6.666/207.53, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.664/207.18, Was #7

Johnson launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number four spot...Allen Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.769, 660ft-4.265/164.79 mph, 1,000ft-5.556. Coughlin is just a tick off his qualifying time from yesterday and gets bumped back one by Johnson. Jeg Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.790, 660ft-4.284/164.43 mph, 1,000ft-5.576.

Left Lane: Bo Butner Runs 6.619/208.49, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.618/208.88, Was #1
Right Lane: Drew Skillman Runs 17.163/48.48, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.650/207.43, Was #6

Butner launched hard and was straight down the groove to make the quickest pass of the round. Bo Butner's incremental times: 60ft-0.976 sec., 330ft-2.758, 660ft-4.247/165.50 mph, 1,000ft-5.534. Skillman with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Greg Anderson Runs 6.636/207.24, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.624/207.30, Was #2
Right Lane: Jason Line Runs 6.622/208.17, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.649/207.85, Was #3

Anderson with a good pass, but slows from yesterday's time. He still make the third quickest pass of the round. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.988 sec., 330ft-2.777, 660ft-4.268/165.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.551. Line launched hard and was straight down the groove to move up the ladder one spot to the number two spot. Jason Line's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.765, 660ft-4.255/165.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.539.
