CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Nostalgia Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 27th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mike Savage Runs 6.076/226.62, Now #2
Right Lane: Tim Boychuk Runs 5.899/238.68, Now #1

Well, that was neat!

Both cars make full passes with Boychuk getting into the sixes! Nice!

Looks like some stuff way down track near the last turnout.

Savage has some shake down low and drives on through it. Rupert moves the top spot mark again on a clean pass. Well, maybe not so clean... Looked like some "stuff" out of his car in the lights [1320 BTW!]
