Pro Stock Motorcycle Time Trial Notes, Session #4

CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 4 time trials in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA, Indianapolis Test Session Day 1 listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.063/188.89, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.112/187.34, Was #3

4:30 p.m. Nice pass by Arana in the heat of the afternoon - just a few ticks better than Johnson's run a few minutes ago at each timing increment. Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.068 sec., 330ft-2.930, 660ft-4.503/155.52 mph, 1,000ft-5.879.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.037/187.63, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.115/186.23, Was #4

4:32 p.m. And Ellis appears to be getting a handle on things, with the best run by a two-wheeler so far today. Chip Ellis' incremental times: 60ft-1.050 sec., 330ft-2.900, 660ft-4.473/155.72 mph, 1,000ft-5.849.

Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.016/185.95, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.096/173.54, Was #2

5:03 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.17 inches, adjusted altitude 3,353 feet, track temperature 121 degrees.

Smith made the quickest run of the day. Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.080 sec., 330ft-2.921, 660ft-4.479/157.21 mph, 1,000ft-5.840.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.066/188.33, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.069/189.50, Was #1

5:21 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 86 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.17 inches, adjusted altitude 3,353 feet, track temperature 121 degrees.

Another good-looking run for Johnson, about the same numbers as the previous run. Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.070 sec., 330ft-2.922, 660ft-4.499/155.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.878.

Left Lane: Chip Ellis Runs 7.056/188.12, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.037/187.63, Was #2

5:26 p.m. Another competitive-looking run by Ellis. Chip Ellis' incremental times: 60ft-1.056 sec., 330ft-2.912, 660ft-4.490/155.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.869.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.094/188.86, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.063/188.89, Was #3

5:28 p.m. This time, Arana was slower than the runs just made by Johnson and Ellis. Hector Arana's incremental times: 60ft-1.091 sec., 330ft-2.951, 660ft-4.528/155.15 mph, 1,000ft-5.909.
