POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 44th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

12:33 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 28.93 inches, adjusted altitude 2,615 feet, track temperature 97 degrees.

Rivas is 2-0 against Pippin in prior events and now he pushes that to 3-0. That round win will keep Rivas in the hunt for the title.

Ellis is 8 - 5 against Johnson in prior events. They meet here and Johnson takes a tiny lead at the hit but Ellis caught him before 60ft and never trailed.

Gann throws away a solid run with the red light. Hines goes low for the first round along with the win.

Sampey has bike problems again as the bike refused to rpm on the burnout. She staged but when the tree came down her bike never moved. Angelle goes winless for 2008. Treble went 7.067 and would have been a handful.

This is the first time Stoffer and McBride have faced each other in eliminations and McBride wins the battle of the tree but Stoffer wins the war at the stripe. Stoffer will get Treble next time out without lane choice.

Krawiec and Llewellyn have each won 1 time against the other in prior events. Krawiec takes out Llewellyn for the win and he goes back into the points lead. Krawiec will have choice over Ellis.
