ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals:

Ray is Manzo's 187th different opponent and this is the first time Ray has been past the second round at a national event.

What can you say - Manzo had a great light and a strong run, back into the fifties after falling all the way off to a 61 in the second round. Ray overpowered the starting line trying to pick up the tenth of a second he needed to have a chance against Manzo and the race was over right at the start.

Ferro figured to have a slight performance advantage here, but Nothstein's team has reached a new level of performance this weekend.

Both drivers had great lights, thyen Ferro's apparent performance edge took over and Ferro pulled away to a car length victory. However, he lost lane choice to Manzo - but lane choice doesn't appear to be a major factor this weekend.
