ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Funny Car at the 13th annual NHRA Revell Nationals:

11:30 AM The temperature is in the low seventies. Bazemore is out of the gate first, but then makes a move toward the centerline. At half-track he gets real close and yanks it back into his lane and does a great driving job to save it. Wilkerson with a wisp of smoke off the Goodyears about 200 feet off the starting line and that was it for him.

Epler goes about 150 feet and then just blisters the hides, and he stays with it attempting to drive through it. No, luck as the smoke billows off the Goodyears. Etchells straight down the track and into round two.

Creasy leaves first and then gives Force everything he wants until around half track and that is when the engine starts to go away. Even with the hurt engine he is just shy of a career best ET. Force backed it down from his quickest pass in history. The incremental times from that quickest pass yesterday were:

Cruz launches hard and never looks back as he continues to run the big top end speeds. Mikres with a valiant effort as he runs his career best ET in the losing effort.

Densham is out of the gate first and then smokes the tires big time and he attempts to drive through it getting real close to the centerline. He finally lifts. Capps with a big puff of engine smoke right in the lights, but still takes the win light.

Worsham leaves Pedregon at the line, and Pedregon comes charging hard, but not hard enough to catch him. Worsham wins this one by 0.018 seconds or eight feet. Worsham will give up lane choice to Capps in round two.

They leave together, and then Anderson starts to lose traction around 150 feet and he pedals it once, and never recovers. Skuza repeats his qualifying ET to take the win and lane choice over Cruz in round two.

Hofmann with his new found power leaves Hoover at the line and just increases his lead at each increment from there on. Hofmann runs the quickest pass of his career, and will have lane choice over Force in round two. Etchells will get the pick over Bazemore in the battle between the Chevys.
