MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 11th annual Pennzoil Nationals presented by AutoZone, listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, (best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run):

Left Lane: Larry Cook Runs 11.158/ 75.06 Now #10, (Best prior run: 7.541/177.07 Was # 9)
Right Lane: Brian Ayers Runs 7.502/178.83 Now # 7, (Best prior run: 7.553/175.32 Was #10)

7:57 PM; We begin this last session of Pro Stock Bike with cooling temps. The track temp is a cool 71 degrees.

Left Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.505/176.01 Now # 9, (Best prior run: 7.517/177.14 Was # 8)
Right Lane: Gary Tonglet Runs 7.472/ 0.00 Now # 7, (Best prior run: 7.532/176.79 Was # 9)

I missed the speed on Tonglet's run. Both bikes improve.

Left Lane: Antron Brown No Time Now # 6, (Best prior run: 7.433/180.07 Was # 5)
Right Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.352/185.18 Now # 1, (No prior time)

Brown broke on the burnout. Hines runs low ET of the meet.

Right Lane: Bruce Dickson Runs 8.090/159.42 Now #16, (Best prior run: 8.223/155.81 Was #15)

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.454/172.30 Now # 8, (Best prior run: 7.458/178.92 Was # 8)
Right Lane: Horace Wright Runs 9.618/ 88.33 Now #15, (Best prior run: 7.945/165.29 Was #15)

Johnson gets out of shape but holds on for a good run. Wright backs off at about half-track.

Smith makes a great pass taking over the #1 position from Hines. No improvement for Short.

Great pass for Schultz, his quickest pass this year.

Underdahl jumps into the #2 position with a great pass. DeSantis has to back out after getting out of shape.

Arana jumps into the 13 spot with a decent run. Treble breaks on the burnout.

Right Lane: Redell Harris Runs 7.615/175.82 Now #14, (Best prior run: 7.637/171.99 Was #14)

Angelle makes a great pass and takes over the pole. Harris improves slightly over his first run.
