Left Lane: Robert Reehl Runs 13.051/ 73.21 Psn # 2
Right Lane: Mike Dunn Runs 4.754/308.85 Psn # 1

Here we go with the overcast skies, the temperature is 56 degrees, humidity is 90% and the barometer is 29.84 inches.

Reehl is up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle, while Dunn is straight down broadway.

Left Lane: Bruce Sarver Runs 4.875/305.18 Psn # 2

Right Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 5.240/190.63 Psn # 3

Head makes it to about the 60-foot mark before he blows off the tires and shuts it off. Meanwhile Dixon makes it to about half-track and then starts to lose traction, he pedals it, but goes up in smoke and keeps his foot in it.

Left Lane: Cristen Powell Runs 8.254/ 94.42 Psn # 4
Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 13.998/ 59.14 Psn # 8

Cory is up in smoke immediately and Cristen with a 0.855 60-foot time overpowers the track around the 150-foot mark and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 10.181/ 75.13 Psn # 5
Right Lane: Pat Dakin Runs 10.632/ 91.27 Psn # 7

Both cars are up in smoke at the same time.

Left Lane: Gary Scelzi Runs 4.637/303.54 Psn # 1
Right Lane: David Grubnic Runs 4.819/296.44 Psn # 3

Scelzi shows the track can hold the big power, and Grubnic with a nice pass to move into the number three spot.

Left Lane: Eddie Hill Runs 5.013/307.58 Psn # 5
Right Lane: Doug Herbert Runs 5.689/159.29 Psn # 7

Hill is completely off the throttle at the 150-foot mark and then back on it. Herbert loses traction around half track and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 5.243/265.95 Psn # 7
Right Lane: Connie Kalitta Runs 11.921/ 74.59 Psn #14

Kalitta loses traction as soon as the light turns green and he gets off the throttle and coast on through the quarter mile. Schumacher's run is a duplicate of Hills.

We now have a bump with Cory McClenathan at a 13.998 seconds.

Left Lane: Shelly Anderson Runs 10.975/ 82.11 Psn #13
Right Lane: Joe Amato Runs 11.783/ 78.44 Psn #15

We are back from a two hour rain delay. These two have the unfortunate luck to be the first two down the track after the rain. They are both up in smoke immediately, but still sneak into the show.

Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 4.561/315.78 Psn # 1
Right Lane: Kenny Bernstein Runs 17.219/ 58.47 Psn #20

Kalitta shows us this great track here at Heartland Park Topeka can hold the big numbers as he resets the track record with the seventh quickest pass in NHRA history. Bernstein is up in smoke as soon as he hits the throttle. That wraps up the rain interrupted Top Fuel session. The bump is Joe Amato with a 11.783 seconds, and by the way Doug great pass knocked Uncle Connie out of the show.
