TULSA, Okla. --

Shelly Howard
It is with great sadness that we report that Top Alcohol Dragster driver Shelly Howard was killed yesterday in an accident at Tulsa Raceway Park. Shelly was participating in an exhibition run while testing at the track when her car went out of control and became airborne at about half track. When the car came back down on the track, it reversed direction and headed back toward the starting line where it crashed into the team's tow vehicle. Shelly's son, Brian, who was in the tow car at the time, was also injured and later died as a result of those injuries. Further details are not known at this time and will be posted as they become available. Please keep the Howard family, especially Shelly's husband, Paul, and daughters, Jennifer and Tracy, in your thoughts and prayers.
