In 2004, FRAM, a leader in filtrations products for more than 70 years, introduced the FRAM AirHog, a rugged washable and reusable, high performance air filter that helps improve engine airflow and increase vehicle horsepower. Today, from their shop in Bristol, Tenn., Carrier Boyz Racing team owners Andy and Mark Carrier unveiled the rendering of the Carrier Boyz Racing 2005 FRAM AirHog Top Fuel Dragster driven by Cory McClenathan.

“Both Mark and I feel that when the fans see this car and the transporter, they will agree with us that it should be a front runner for ‘Best Appearing Car,’” said Andy Carrier. “2005 looks exciting for Carrier Boyz Racing with Honeywell and FRAM on board.”

Headquartered in Danbury, Conn., FRAM is a unit of Honeywell Consumer Products Group, which manufactures and markets FRAM AirHog air filters and other quality automotive filters. The Honeywell Consumer Products Group also includes Prestone® antifreeze/coolant and car care products, Autolite spark plugs and ignition wire sets and Holts car care products.

FRAM, the leading brand of automotive filters in North America, has been a symbol of quality and innovation since 1934. Today, as the Official Filter of the NHRA®, it markets a variety of automotive filtration products for the original equipment and aftermarket industries.

The FRAM AirHog air filter offers coverage for nearly 85 percent of today’s passenger cars and light-duty trucks. The AirHog filter, cleaner and oil can be found in most major automotive stores and discount retail chains. Consumers interested in learning more should call 1(800) 862-7737 or log on to www.framairhog.com.

“The relationship between FRAM, Honeywell and Carrier Boyz Racing will be awesome,” said McClenathan. “I’m excited about getting behind the wheel of this FRAM AirHog Dragster. I think it has the potential to put FRAM in the winner’s circle and for us (Carrier Boyz Racing) to contend for a Top Fuel championship.

Carrier Boyz Racing and Cory McClenathan will begin their quest for the 2005 NHRA POWERade® Top Fuel championship Feb. 10-13, when the NHRA CARQUEST Auto Parts Winternationals unfolds at Pomona Raceway in Pomona, Calif. Prior to the season-opening Winternationals, fans can see the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM AirHog Dragster in preseason action in Las Vegas and Phoenix.
