Manzo qualified number one for the 75th time this weekend, and it's his 6th time on the top here in Gainesville.

The mph goes up a little, the ET goes up by a 'thou, and Manzo is more than ready for racing tomorrow.

Morris hooked left, and didn't recover in time to avoid the 330-foot cones. Harker will have a single in round two, so he's going to the semis after he stages the car in the next round.

Schuster did not make the call, so Anderika will have a single. John's car is sporting the torque convertor setup being developed, and his 5.56 is the best time so far for the new technology.

This is the first time Sullivan and De Joria have faced each other in eliminations.

Boom! And then Boom again! First Sullivan had a flash of flame just as he swapped feet, and then the chutes came out. About half track De Joria also popped out the burst panels, then whistled the rest of the way to the finish line. We've got stuff in both lanes and Sullivan's race car to clear from the left.

Both drivers posted new career bests to qualify this weekend... Leanders started gaining on Veney for the first 200 feet, then Veney pulled steadily away from there. At the stripe Veney took the win by about four car lengths. Todd will have lane choice against De Joria in the next round.

153 Jason McKnight 6 Mickey Ferro

As McKnight brought the RPM's up he started to creep thru the beams. He rolled thru, got a red light and no time slip. Ferro had a great pass, 2nd best of the round to Manzo's 5.51, Ferro will have lane choice against Anderika tomorrow.

193 Larry Dobbs 35 Ray Drew

It's the last pair of the day here at Gainesville - The track has cooled to 74 degrees, the winner will take on Frank Manzo's low ET of the round 5.51.

Make that Dobbs, Drew got over toward the centerline and had to pedal to get back over to the right side of his lane. That's it from Gainesville, Good Night! 7:08 p.m.
