CORDOVA - Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley Qualifying Notes, Session #2

CORDOVA, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Screamin' Eagle Nitro Harley at the 21st annual Amalie Motor Oil Summer Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Bob Spina Runs 7.587/166.58, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.277/172.52, Was #6
Right Lane: Mark Conner Runs 8.168/192.77, Now #7; Best prior run: 8.323/128.18, Was #7

Conner smoked the big rear slick to the 330-foot mark, but stayed with it. Spina launched hard and then got out of the groove.

Left Lane: Johnny Mancuso Runs 6.509/213.84, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.715/197.74, Was #4
Right Lane: Jim McClure Runs 6.890/188.52, Now #5; No Prior Run

Mancuso had good pass to take him to the number two spot.

Left Lane: Bill Furr Runs 6.975/161.56, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.620/204.20, Was #4
Right Lane: Mike Romine Runs 6.956/192.41, Now #6; No Prior Run

Romine goes from the outside - in. No help for Furr.

Left Lane: Jay Turner Runs 6.532/210.77, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.604/197.62, Was #3
Right Lane: Steve Moore Runs 16.088/42.03, Now #11; No Prior Run

The 'Bulldog' jumped into the number three spot. No help for Romine.

Left Lane: Doug Vancil Runs 6.913/203.09, Now #7; Best prior run: 20.830/33.68, Was #12
Right Lane: Allen Peterson Runs 6.866/199.94, Now #5; Best prior run: 9.134/120.57, Was #10

Peterson, the hog farmer from Iowa, fought that Hog all the way through the quarter mile. Both riders get in the show with these passes.

Right Lane: Ray Price Runs 7.782/127.81, Now #11; No Prior Run

Price having problems around half track and he clicks it off to wrap up this session of Nitro Harleys.
