BAYTOWN, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Federal-Mogul Dragster at the 4th annual Matco Tools SuperNationals presented by Racing Champions:

2:49 PM A quick clean up after Super Stock and we will be into the first round of Federal-Mogul Dragster. We begin with the 8-9 pair of Bybee and Buff. Not much to pick from between theese two.

Boul was way early and the race was over. Hentges legs it out to try for lane choice.

Not a match here as Foley pulls away to the win. The 5.50 gives him lane choice over Hentges in round two.

Boy that was a surprise. Both cars took the long way down as they were very loose. If not for a bad light Fuentes would have had Meyer's number.

Snow dropped at least one cylinder and the race was over from the hit. Ormsby was loose but runs the first 5.43 of the session.

Thompson closes his eyes and lets the clutch out. Great light. The announcer says that was their first round win.

Howard takes out the West coast team of Darien and Meadows. Ormsby will have lane choice over Howard in the next round.

Henkelman gets a great light for an a-fuel leave but puts out a hole before 100 feet. Federlin gets the win but loses lane choice to Thompson in the next round.
