LEESBURG, Va. -- Modified Merchandise Johnny Rocca's USA Racing, one of the more popular teams in professional motorsports, has made its "Ironhorse" '49 Mercury drag racing vehicle's unique line of apparel and merchandise available for purchase, worldwide, through online shopping capabilities from it's award-winning website.

The "usaracing.com" site, created and maintained by Allen Cook's Medina, NY-based 1320 Web Services, recently launched the Pro Modified team's e-commerce section, featuring an array of shirts, hats, jackets, posters, plus other high quality, one-of-a-kind items, such as hat pins, music/sound effects CDs, etc.

"I'm very proud to be able to offer our official team merchandise to an eager and global marketplace," said Rocca, whose former record-holding Mercury, now sponsored by Mohegan Sun casino, is truly one of the crowd favorites on the International Hot Rod Association's (IHRA) U.S. and Canada-based national event trail.

"The creation of USA Racing's online sales capabilities is in response to a tremendous and expressed desire to own these items from "Ironhorse" fans and supporters everywhere," he added, "including many who may not be able to logistically attend one of our upcoming 2001 Summit Drag Racing national, and select match race events in person." Visitors will find a "user-friendly" access prompt on the site's home page, taking them directly to a trio of merchandise windows, including "apparel", "neat stuff" and "posters". Once there, specific merchandise can be viewed via product descriptions and photos, which can be enlarged for better viewing. Alongside each item is another box, which can select individual items for inclusion in their "shopping cart." Still another prompt allows access to the "sign-up" section, which must be completed in order to fulfill the usual sales methods and preferences, prior to immediate order procurement and shipping.

Before the announcement, USA Racing's high-traffic Internet location received a reported 60,000 hits per month, from persons in 60 different countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Sweden, South Africa, Japan and others. The addition of the e-commerce shopping section further grows the usaracing.com site's strength and capabilities, which already include USA Racing team information, breaking news, sponsor and photographic support. Confirmation of its popularity came recently, as it was voted one of drag racing's best, by over 100,000 readers via the annual Dot.com Awards, established by drag racing e-zine, Competitionplus.com.
