6:01 PM Time for first round of Federal Mogul Funny car eliminations. We start with a bye run for Marc White. He comes off the line clean and stays in the groove for a decent pass.

6:46 PM Were back after a long delay. Whites parachute didn't deploy on his bye-run and he went through the net at the end of the track. It took about thirty minutes to get the net back up. No apparent problems for either car and Lourie moves on to round two.

Newberry comes off the line and gets out of the groove. he pedals to try to save the run but Gill was to far out in front.

Manzo makes the fastest pass so far this session and will have lane choice over English in round two.

The winner of this race will get a bye in round two. Keddy gets a big holeshot but Payne catches him at half-track and pulled away. We will be down for a little while. Keddys chute doesn't open and he went into the sandpit at the end of the track. They get him out of the car and check him out, but they will not have to transport him to the hospital.
