LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Second annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Randy Hagerty Runs 6.795/207.66, Now #13; No Prior Run

Hagerty waits patiently through the opening ceremonies to make his first pass of the weekend. Scialpi holds down the final #8 position in the field at 6.544. Hagerty gets his baseline one session late but he'll have something to work with.

Left Lane: Andy Neyer Runs 6.379/225.00, Now #3; Best prior run: 11.428/74.73, Was #17
Right Lane: Wayne Torkelson Runs 6.935/172.25, Now #15; Best prior run: 13.309/60.69, Was #18

Torkelson takes the long way down as he was all over the right lane. Neyer got a hold of the track and takes top speed in qualifying as well as bumping into the show.

Left Lane: Bill Kuhlmann Runs 7.811/121.11, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.307/138.17, Was #16
Right Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.567/218.51, Now #10; Best prior run: 9.786/113.32, Was #18

Patterson just misses the field with his second run. Kuhlmann was very busy in the other lane with a hand full of Pro Mod gone wild.

Left Lane: Dennis Radford No Time, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.630/210.64, Was #11
Right Lane: Rickie Smith No Time, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.411/137.30, Was #18

Problems for both cars. Radford is pushed away before he can stage. Smith stages but has a nitrous backfire at the hit of the throttle.

Left Lane: John Scialpi Runs 6.483/215.03, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.544/213.27, Was #9
Right Lane: Dan Vogt Runs 9.979/93.32, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.752/214.45, Was #14

Vogt is out of the throttle before half track. Scialpi bumps his way into the top eight.

Left Lane: Zach Barklage Runs 6.456/214.86, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.517/218.76, Was #8
Right Lane: Bill Hill Runs 6.768/207.66, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.690/211.83, Was #13

Both cars got close to the center line but the drivers were able to bring them back to the middle of their own lanes.

Left Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.459/220.58, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.450/220.84, Was #6
Right Lane: Lee Smith Runs 6.578/219.26, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.674/217.39, Was #12

Ashley almost duplicates his first pass and stays #6. Smith picks up a tenth but is still not in the eight car field.

Left Lane: Troy Critchley Runs 6.433/218.51, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.434/218.19, Was #5
Right Lane: Johnny Rocca Runs 6.376/220.91, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.404/220.12, Was #4

Rocca picks up one spot in the field. Critchley has another pass that just about duplicates his first.

Left Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.261/222.99, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.362/220.80, Was #2
Right Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 6.298/224.81, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.350/223.06, Was #1

We've just had a swap of the #1 and #2 positions. Jenkins and Stott swapped spot even thought they both ran high twenties. That's the final pair of Pro Mods for the evening.
