POMONA, Calif. - A licensed professional sky-diver was pronounced dead at Pomona Valley Medical Center at approximately 11:30 AM today from injuries received in a sky-diving accident during pre-race ceremonies for the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Pomona Raceway. The victim made contact with the track's right-side guardwall while attempting to land. The victim was transported to PVMC, where attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. The
victim's name is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
