POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 35th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/spe ed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.469/178.64, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.434/180.74, Was #7
Right Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.231/181.06, Now #1; Best prior run: 7.225/182.45, Was #1

1:57 PM Matt commented several times during last nights interview about how much quicker the shifts come with the six speed transmission. This heat-of-the-day run isn't too bad considering the conditions.

Right Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 7.424/176.51, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.453/179.09, Was #10

Ayers jumps ahead of Mullen after leaning to the right all the way downtrack on his Suzuki.

Right Lane: Larry Cook Runs 7.410/176.35, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.580/177.63, Was #18

Schultz made a big move towards the centerline on the 1-2 shift and had to jerk things back "over there", costing lots of ET in the process.

Korn's run makes it into the sevens, the last bike to run under eight seconds this weekend. Too bad it's still off the pace.

Angelle and Team Winston get the best 60-foot time of the round at 1.088, but it's not enough to move up the ladder. We end round two of qualifying with Matt Hines on top and Brian DeLong is on the bubble with a 7.526. 2:12 PM
