5:30 PM This is the first time since Winternationals of 1997 we have had an all-Pontiac Funny Car final, Force defeated Hofmann that time. These two have raced only once this year, and Cruz won that one. Here, they leave together, but Cruz was up in smoke before 60 feet. Hofmann really starts mixing up the cylinders right after half-track and keeps his foot in it. It's Al Hofmann with his first win of the year, his 15th career victory.
