MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Bike at the 11th annual Pennzoil Nationals presented by AutoZone, listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, (best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run):

Left Lane: Matt Hines Runs 7.266/184.62 Now # 1, (Best prior run: 7.352/185.18 Was # 4)
Right Lane: Tony Mullen Runs 7.435/181.35 Now # 6, (Best prior run: 7.413/176.60 Was # 6)

Left Lane: Bruce Dickson No Time Now #18, (Best prior run: 8.090/159.42 Was #18)
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.441/181.36 Now # 8, (Best prior run: 7.454/172.30 Was # 8)

Dickson breaks on the launch. Johnson makes a good pass but doesn't improve.

Left Lane: Horace Wright Runs 7.856/164.85 Now #16, (Best prior run: 7.945/165.29 Was #16)
Right Lane: John Smith Runs 7.299/185.49 Now # 3, (Best prior run: 7.317/183.00 Was # 3)

Smith makes an almost perfect run but only good enough for the 3rd spot.

Right Lane: Rob Korn Runs 8.203/158.58 Now #17, (Best prior run: 8.084/153.21 Was #17)

Short makes a good pass and moves to #12 for now. No improvement for Korn.

Right Lane: Craig Treble No Time Now #19, (Best prior run: 13.482/ 58.11 Was #19)

Treble breaks after the burnout.

Right Lane: Angelle Seeling Runs 7.259/184.14 Now # 1, (Best prior run: 7.298/179.18 Was # 2)

Angelle makes a great pass, just short of the national record, and takes the #1 spot.

Right Lane: Ron Ayers Runs 11.153/ 62.24 Now #11, (Best prior run: 7.505/176.01 Was #11)

Ayers has a good start, then pulls up at 300' out. Arana doesn't improve.
