GRAND BEND, Ont. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Screamin{ Eagle Nitro Harley at the Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series, 3rd annual Mopar Performance Parts Canadian Nationals presented by Castrol listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Ray Price Runs 6.563/214.79, Now #1
Right Lane: Mark Conner Runs 6.815/211.41, Now #2

Mark Conner went long and rolled into the sand.

Left Lane: Jack Romine Runs 18.673/44.21, Now #3
Right Lane: Mark Revels No Time, Now #4

Revels broke on the burnout. Romine had problems right off the starting line.

Left Lane: Doug Vancil Runs 6.500/189.27, Now #1
Right Lane: Johnny Mancuso Runs 6.602/203.25, Now #3

Vancil with a great looking pass here.

Left Lane: Mike Romine Runs 6.471/210.03, Now #1
Right Lane: Steve Stordeur Runs 6.471/0.00, Now #2

Both bikes launched hard and carried the front tires to about half track and then ran identical E.T.s and Stordeur got a bad mph reading, so Romine will get the number one position for now.
