ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, Inaugural NHRA Nationals at The Rock listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Paul Lee Runs 3.934/322.35, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 71 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 30.01 inches, adjusted altitude 1,532 feet, track temperature 113 degrees.

Lee is straight down the groove with a good pass.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 5.379/131.73, Now #3
Right Lane: Dave Richards Runs 4.073/254.81, Now #2

Pedregon started to lose traction and clicked it off.

Richards with a good pass early and then started to haze the tires on the top end.

Left Lane: Spencer Hyde Runs 4.455/192.88, Now #4
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 3.963/320.06, Now #2

Hyde starts to spin the tires and clicked it off early.

Green kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 3.982/325.85, Now #3
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 8.880/73.71, Now #7

Wilkerson kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number three spot.

DeJoria lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.942/323.97, Now #3
Right Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.937/331.61, Now #2

Prock starts the weekend with a good clean pass to go to the number three spot.

Todd launched hard and kep it hooked up to go to the number two spot, he has a big top end speed.

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.926/330.40, Now #2
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 3.911/327.03, Now #1

Capps kept it hooked up and goes to the number two spot.

Beckman had it hitting on all eight all the way down the track to go to the number one spot.

Left Lane: Jordan Vandergriff Runs 4.654/183.15, Now #11
Right Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.982/327.27, Now #7

Vandergriff makes a move out of the groove toward the wall and clicked it off.

Hagan kept it hooked up with a good clean pass.
