INDIANAPOLIS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Michael Ray Runs 10.841/72.94, Now #17; No Prior Run

2:48 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 61 percent, barometer 29.89 inches, adjusted altitude 3,910 feet, track temperature 127 degrees.

Ray gets about 300 feet out and it sounded like he had problems getting the bike to switch gears.

Left Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 7.238/179.95, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 10.245/120.53, Now #18; No Prior Run

Phillips makes a clean pass to get in the show for now. Johnson has problems and is off of the throttle early.

Left Lane: Mark Paquette No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.222/173.36, Was #14
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.967/194.04, Now #7; Best prior run: 9.971/85.54, Was #17

Paquette did not make a pass.

Arana goes down the groove with a good pass and he gets in the field in the seventh spot for now.

Left Lane: Chase Van Sant Runs 6.954/195.82, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.069/194.07, Was #13
Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.091/192.06, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.366/152.97, Was #17

Van Sant drifted to the right early in the run but stayed on the throttle and moved up to the seventh spot. Arana improves and moves up to the 14th spot.

Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 7.002/194.27, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.061/192.63, Was #13
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.085/187.42, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.126/187.60, Was #15

A good side-by-side, both down the groove with good runs. Scali improves and moves up to the 11th spot. Wells improves and moves up a spot to 14th.

Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.983/192.63, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.004/190.86, Was #12
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.007/193.63, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.060/194.38, Was #13

Ingwersen goes down the groove with a good run and he moves up to the tenth spot for now. oehler improves but stays in the 13th spot.

Right Lane: Kelly Clontz Runs 7.016/194.38, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.947/193.38, Was #6

Bostick makes a clean pass but he doesn't improve. Clontz makes a full pass but doesn't improve.

Right Lane: John Hall Runs 16.188/40.98, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.910/195.65, Was #3

Howey makes a good pass but doesn't improve.

Hall leaves the line, the front suspension bounces up and down, then he backs off of the throttle.

Smith goes down the groove with a good run but she doesn't improve. Herrera makes the quickest pass of the weekend to take the top spot for now.

Gaige Herrera's incremental times: 60ft-1.063 sec., 330ft-2.862, 660ft-4.390/160.42 mph, 1,000ft-5.721.

Smith goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the weekend and he takes the top spot to end this session. Gadson makes his quickest pass of the weekend to move up to the third spot.

Richard Gadson's incremental times: 60ft-1.054 sec., 330ft-2.856, 660ft-4.393/159.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.731.
