INDIANAPOLIS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Brandon Greco Runs 5.420/266.69, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 94 degrees, relative humidity 50 percent, barometer 29.94 inches, adjusted altitude 4,091 feet, track temperature 125 degrees.

Greco is straight down the groove with a clean pass.

Left Lane: TJ Tindle Runs 5.397/272.72, Now #2
Right Lane: Richie Crampton Runs 5.302/270.16, Now #1

Tindle is straight down the groove with clean pass.

Crampton kept it hooked up all the way down the track.

Left Lane: Shaunda Blinzler Runs 5.481/269.19, Now #4
Right Lane: John Ausherman Runs 5.631/256.16, Now #5

Blinzler is straight down the groove.

Ausherman with a clean pass.

Left Lane: John Paul Gutierrez Runs 14.859/82.09, Now #7
Right Lane: Mitch Kalitta Runs 7.856/125.47, Now #6

Gutierrez with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.

Kalitta is coming off his Regional win last weekend in Bowling Green. The car just labors off the starting line, before he clicked it off.

Right Lane: Corey Michalek Runs 5.695/258.37, Now #6

Dreher kept it hooked up.

Michalek with a clean pass.

Left Lane: Sarah Allen Runs 6.461/237.80, Now #9
Right Lane: Angelle Sampey Runs 5.563/257.97, Now #5

Allen had a hole or two out right at the hit, but stayed with it.

Sampey is straight down the groove.

Left Lane: Megan Smith Runs 5.483/269.13, Now #5
Right Lane: Anthony Troyer Runs 57.498/34.52, Now #13

Smith kept it hooked up and is straight down the groove.

Troyer was up in smoke right at the hit.

Left Lane: Melanie Johnson Runs 5.367/265.38, Now #2
Right Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 11.056/90.28, Now #13

Johnson launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number two spot.

Fricke lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Shawn Cowie No Time, Now #17
Right Lane: Jamie Noonan Runs 5.487/253.18, Now #7

Cowie with problems on the burnout and will not make the pass.

Noonan is straight down the groove.
