TEMECULA, Calif. --- Prior to the 2025 Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony at the Pechanga Resort and Casino 16-time Funny Car world champion John Force and 6-time Pro Stock world champion Greg Anderson were installed as the first two members of the 1000 Round Win Club. Force and Anderson each received custom embroidered tuxedo jackets as well as framed certificates of membership into arguably the most exclusive achievement club in motorsports.
The framed certificate of membership highlights the spirit of what it means to be a member of the 1000 Round Win Club. "This remarkable milestone places you amongst the elite of elite in motorsports. The world of motorsports celebrates this achievement with you and your team, as it is a testament to your enduring excellence, perseverance and legendary career." Force was the first driver to achieve this milestone when he won his 1,000th round of NHRA professional racing on May 4, 2008, during the 12th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois. Force ultimately won 1,460 rounds of professional racing before officially announcing his retirement this weekend prior to the In-N-Out NHRA Finals. "I was just trying to make enough money to get to the next race when I won my first round in 1979 so it's an honor all these years later to be recognized as the first 1000 Round Win Club jacket," said Force. "I'm officially done driving so the numbers I have are what they are, but I'm excited about what John Force Racing has in store for next season and in the years to come." Earlier this year Anderson joined Force when he turned on his 1,000th round win light of NHRA professional racing on June 8, 2025, during the 24th annual Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tennessee. Anderson continued to add to his total amassing 1,022 round wins through the 2025 season. "To get to 1000 round wins with John Force is a huge accomplishment," said Anderson. "I have to thank my team, Rob Downing and a whole bunch of great new teammates that I didn't have two years ago. We're a better team than we've ever been. And that's what I'm the proudest of. I've been lucky to somehow surround myself with people that can make me look good and are the best in the business. This is a great honor that a lot of people contributed to." Werner Communications will be the caretaker of the 1000 Round Win Club jackets for each driver beyond the 2025 banquet. The goal is that each driver wears their 1000 Round Win Club jacket at the annual Don Garlits Drag Racing Hall of Fame event and/or the annual NHRA Awards banquet. Werner Communications will coordinate jacket transportation, storage and cleaning for all future events. Additional announcements regarding the 1000 Round Win Club will be released later. Currently the closest professional driver to be eligible for membership to the 1000 Round Win Club is 3-time Funny Car world champion Ron Capps who has 939 round wins at the end of the 2025 NHRA season.
