LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Kelly Harper Runs 3.958/298.47, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.684/162.14, Was #13
Weather conditions: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 30.04 inches, adjusted altitude 3,667 feet.
Harper starts use up and engine and put some oil on the track. He still makes his quickest pass. He moves up the ladder a couple spots.
Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.900/305.63, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.434/181.06, Was #13
Right Lane: Rob Passey Runs 4.923/156.21, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.278/227.46, Was #12
Schumacher is pushing out a head gasket around half track, but stayed with it to move up the ladder a coupled spots.
Passey started to lose traction and clicked it off.
Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 3.886/313.66, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.811/329.26, Was #10
Right Lane: Dan Mercier Runs 3.791/328.54, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.795/326.95, Was #9
Hart started dancing around on the top end and clicked it off a little early.
Mercier is straight down the groove with his quickest pass. He stays in the number nine spot.
Left Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 3.762/325.22, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.741/330.72, Was #5
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 5.670/114.92, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.771/331.28, Was #8
Stewart was real good looking early and then had a pop right in the lights.
Millican started to lose traction around 330 feet and clicked it off.
Left Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 4.583/171.75, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.737/329.10, Was #4
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.975/144.92, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.750/333.16, Was #7
Reed is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicked it off.
Brown starts to lose traction by 330 feet.
Left Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.383/180.14, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.715/336.57, Was #3
Right Lane: Justin Ashley Runs 3.745/335.40, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.744/333.41, Was #6
Langdon starts to lose traction around half track and clicked it off.
Ashley launched hard and kept it hooked to make another good pass. He is just a tick off his pass from yesterday. Justin Ashley's incremental times: 60ft-0.861 sec., 330ft-2.152, 660ft-3.022/292.96 mph.

Right Lane: Brittany Force Runs 4.706/158.58, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.697/338.85, Was #1
Kalitta launched hard and kept it hooked up to make the quickest pass of the session. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.147, 660ft-3.021/292.96 mph.
Force started to lose traction and clicked it off.
