LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Bret Williamson Runs 5.971/191.57, Now #15; Best prior run: 10.915/109.48, Was #14
Right Lane: Steve Gasparrelli Runs 5.653/256.41, Now #12; No Prior Run
5:55 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 75 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 29.89 inches, adjusted altitude 3,608 feet.
Williamson was on a good pass but had problems near the end of the run. Gasparrelli goes down the groove with a good pass and he moves up to the 12th spot for now.
Left Lane: Kirk Kuhns Runs 5.844/250.60, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.777/241.58, Was #13
Right Lane: Chris Foster Runs 6.320/177.18, Now #16; Best prior run: 12.295/72.74, Was #16
Kuhns makes another good pass but he doesn't improve. Foster was on a good pass but had problems and was off of the throttle early.
Left Lane: Stan Sipos No Time, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.633/259.96, Was #10
Right Lane: Robert Kanenwisher Runs 5.807/239.53, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.958/241.20, Was #14
Sipos left before the tree was activated and did not get a time. Kanenwisher improves but not enough to move up in the order.
Left Lane: Christine Foster Runs 5.561/263.26, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.551/262.64, Was #7
Right Lane: Ray Martin Runs 5.590/257.28, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.637/258.71, Was #11
A good side-by-side, both down the groove with good runs. Martin improves and moves up to the eighth spot.
Christine Foster's incremental times: 60ft-0.975 sec., 330ft-2.506, 660ft-3.689/208.55 mph, 1,000ft-4.704.
Ray Martin's incremental times: 60ft-0.940 sec., 330ft-2.474, 660ft-3.684/205.22 mph, 1,000ft-4.716.
Left Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.531/265.12, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.532/264.13, Was #6

Another good side-by-side. Whiteley improves a tick but not enough to move up in the order. Hough improves and moves up to the eighth spot for now.

McCosh goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round so far and he moves up to the fourth spot. Macklyn improves and moves up a spot to ninth.
Bob McCosh's incremental times: 60ft-0.953 sec., 330ft-2.461, 660ft-3.642/210.05 mph, 1,000ft-4.650.
Steve Macklyn's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.458, 660ft-3.664/204.20 mph, 1,000ft-4.703.
Left Lane: Shane Westerfield Runs 5.516/263.82, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.504/264.29, Was #3
Right Lane: Madison Gordon Runs 5.494/264.34, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.512/265.12, Was #5
Westerfield makes a good run but slows a little from his earlier attempt. Gordon makes her quickest pass of the day and goes around Westerfield in the order to move into the third spot.
