ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 40th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Mitch King Runs 4.131/259.23, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 43 percent, barometer 30.08 inches, adjusted altitude 2,677 feet, track temperature 122 degrees.

King is making his first appearance on the NHRA tour since this race 2023.

He has a good clean pass and clicked it off early.

Right Lane: Cameron Ferre Runs 4.412/188.30, Now #2

Ferre with a clean pass early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.881/280.36, Now #2
Right Lane: Doug Foley Runs 3.826/321.41, Now #1

Schumacher with a good pass until just past half track when it drops cylinders and he clicks it off early.

Foley kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight for a good pass to start the weekend.

Left Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 3.852/325.40, Now #2
Right Lane: Ida Zetterstrom Runs 6.140/100.60, Now #6

Salinas launched hard and kept it hooked to go to the number two spot.

Zetterstrom is up in smoke by 330 feet and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 4.117/221.50, Now #5
Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.774/328.76, Now #1

Hart is dropping cylinders early and then clicked it off.

Reed launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Shawn Reed's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.151, 660ft-3.038/294.16 mph.

Left Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.810/328.66, Now #2
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.825/330.25, Now #3

Torrence announced this week this is his last race of the season. Torrence kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.855 sec., 330ft-2.173, 660ft-3.070/285.48 mph.

Brown with a good looking pass, straight down the groove to the number three spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.879 sec., 330ft-2.199, 660ft-3.089/287.41 mph.

Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.903/268.80, Now #8

Force kept it hooked up and hitting on eight to go to the number six spot.

Millican started to lose traction around half track and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.722/157.87, Now #13

Stewart is straight down the groove, hitting on all eight to go to the number three spot. Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.861 sec., 330ft-2.179, 660ft-3.075/285.81 mph.

Langdon started to smoke the tires around half track and clicked it off.

Kalitta was dropping cylinders right at the hit and clicked it off early.
