ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 40th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: Chris King Runs 6.383/104.14, Now #1

5:05 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 43 percent, barometer 30.08 inches, adjusted altitude 2,677 feet, track temperature 122 degrees.

King hits the throttle, gets about 300 feet out,starts spinning the tires and is off of the throttle.

Left Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 4.044/304.84, Now #1
Right Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 4.576/186.72, Now #2

Haddock goes down the groove with a clean pass to set the early pace. Alexander gets about 300 feet out, loses traction, then backs off of the throttle.

Left Lane: Alex Laughlin Runs 4.073/273.71, Now #3
Right Lane: Dave Richards Runs 4.073/311.81, Now #2

Laughlin was on a good pass but the car nosed over a little before the finish line. Richards goes down the groove with a clean pass to get in the second spot for now.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 4.241/223.16, Now #5
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.932/332.08, Now #1

Todd was on a good pass but was off of the throttle a little early. Tasca goes down the groove with a good run to take the top spot for now.

Left Lane: Chad Green Runs 3.960/325.03, Now #2
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 4.082/265.52, Now #6

Green goes down the groove with a good pass to get in the second spot for now.

DeJoria gets about 900 feet out and dropped a couple of cylinders. the car makes a hard move to the right, getting close to the wall as she crosses the finish line.

Left Lane: Spencer Hyde No Time, Now #11
Right Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 5.163/145.66, Now #9

Hyde had problems and did not make a pass.

Pedregon had problems and was off of the throttle early.

Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 6.834/98.12, Now #12
Right Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 4.861/162.01, Now #9

Lee gets about 200 feet out and strikes the tires. Wilkerson gets about 300 feet out, loses traction and gives up on the run.

Left Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.965/327.84, Now #3
Right Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 4.446/196.67, Now #9

Capps makes a decent pass and goes to the third spot for now. Beckman was on a good run but lost traction about 400 feet out and was off of the throttle.

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 3.970/325.36, Now #4
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 4.516/188.16, Now #11

Hagan goes down the groove with a good pass to get in the fourth spot for now but banged the blower at the finish line.

Prock had problems late in the run and was off of the throttle early.
