POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Funny Car at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 59th annual In-N-Out NHRA Finals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Alex Miladinovich Runs 8.265/73.67, Now #17; Best prior run: 9.196/76.93, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 60 degrees, relative humidity 39 percent, barometer 29.91 inches, adjusted altitude 1,520 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

Miladinovich with severe tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.878/326.71, Now #6; Best prior run: 8.155/85.97, Was #16
Right Lane: Jason Rupert Runs 5.413/132.13, Now #14; Best prior run: 8.804/73.05, Was #19

Todd is straight down the groove and hooked up to get off the bump spot. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.879 sec., 330ft-2.245, 660ft-3.143/288.27 mph.

Rupert drove into tire shake and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Dave Richards Runs 7.882/85.50, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.543/85.09, Was #16
Right Lane: Buddy Hull Runs 12.070/79.11, Now #19; Best prior run: 8.320/78.61, Was #19

Richards loses traction early and clicks it off.

Hull is up in smoke right at the hit and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Jeff Diehl Runs 4.544/191.81, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.934/160.58, Was #13
Right Lane: Ron Capps Runs 3.821/332.75, Now #1; Best prior run: 8.037/81.31, Was #17

Diehl started to lose traction on the top end and clicked it off early.

Capps launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Capps sets the track E.T. record. Ron Capps' incremental times: 60ft-0.863 sec., 330ft-2.201, 660ft-3.093/290.19 mph.

Left Lane: Steven Densham Runs 4.089/286.92, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.983/313.66, Was #12
Right Lane: Bob Tasca III Runs 3.867/334.82, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.235/90.10, Was #16

Densham with a good pass early and then the engine started to go away on the top end. There is oil in Densham's lane.

Tasca III is straight down the groove with a good looking pass to get off the bubble. He goes to the number four spot. Bob Tasca III's incremental times: 60ft-0.869 sec., 330ft-2.235, 660ft-3.138/287.35 mph.

Left Lane: Matt Hagan Runs 4.499/187.05, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.895/328.38, Was #9
Right Lane: Terry Haddock Runs 11.152/86.49, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.041/305.84, Was #14

Hagan started to lose traction right just before half track and clicked it off.

Haddock lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Cruz Pedregon Runs 7.293/98.87, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.875/324.59, Was #7
Right Lane: Chad Green Runs 10.259/84.00, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.953/279.85, Was #12

Pedregon lost traction early and clicked it off.

Green is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Paul Lee Runs 4.164/224.47, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.875/328.46, Was #6
Right Lane: Alexis DeJoria Runs 3.952/334.07, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.948/292.65, Was #11

Lee with a good pass early, but put out a bunch of cylinders. the car made a move toward the centerline and he clicked it off.

DeJoria is straight down the groove with a good looking pass.

Left Lane: Blake Alexander Runs 3.879/331.28, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.870/336.40, Was #5
Right Lane: Daniel Wilkerson Runs 6.537/99.36, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.903/308.92, Was #10

Alexander launched hard and kept it hooked up to make another great pass. He will not improve. Blake Alexander's incremental times: 60ft-0.872 sec., 330ft-2.235, 660ft-3.142/284.99 mph.

Wilkerson lost traction early and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Jack Beckman Runs 8.188/81.45, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.828/334.82, Was #2
Right Lane: Austin Prock Runs 3.822/333.74, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.842/331.94, Was #3

Beckman lost traction right at the hit and clicked it off.

Prock launched hard and kept it hooked up and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Austin Prock's incremental times: 60ft-0.866 sec., 330ft-2.211, 660ft-3.098/290.38 mph.
