Fram Route 66 Nationals

JOLIET, Ill. -

Todd Patterson, Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Dakota, (7.904/169.15 8th position) "We have been fighting air flow problems with the truck and we demonstrated that on our first run. The car left good and ran well to the half-track then it almost shut-off. On my second pass we made a few changes and that helped. The truck still seemed to be flat in high gear and we need to address that in the morning. Our early numbers are respectable, I think we were fifth to the 660-foot marker and then we ran into some problem. We're getting closer to where we want to be and that is encouraging."

Bill Henderson, Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Dakota, (7.853/172.59 5th position) "Not bad for our first hit on a new race track and what a great race track it is. Dale (Coyne) should be proud of what he had provide the racing community. Overall I am very pleased on how the Dodge Dakota responded today. We had pretty good numbers throughout our runs, and actually picked up four-hundredths on the last pass. We had to make some changes to both our clutch and gear and we didn't want to due both at the same time. We changed the clutch first and that improved our time. Tomorrow we will work on the gear and look to pick up another five-hundredths. The track doesn't have a bump on it and it will even get better the next few days."

David Nickens, Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Dakota, (DNQ) Note: Pro Stock Dodge Dakota driver David Nickens did not compete in the first and second qualifying session. Nickens is scheduled to compete in both Friday sessions.
