Right Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.369/270.05, Now #10; Best prior run: 8.235/113.17, Was #15
12:43 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 66 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 2,920 feet.
Januik makes his first full pass of the weekend but it isn't enough to get him in the show.
Nick Januik's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.437, 660ft-3.568/218.69 mph, 1,000ft-4.539.
Left Lane: Eric Chesleigh Runs 5.320/267.43, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.577/177.09, Was #15
Right Lane: Kim Parker Runs 5.722/247.93, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.434/256.06, Was #12
Chesleigh goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he gets in the field on the bump spot. Parker had raw fuel coming out of the pipes on both sides of the engine all the way through the run.
Eric Chesleigh's incremental times: 60ft-0.943 sec., 330ft-2.454, 660ft-3.556/226.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.497.
Left Lane: Jackie Fricke Runs 5.312/274.39, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.495/263.41, Was #15
Right Lane: Shaunda Blinzler Runs 5.319/272.83, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.357/273.16, Was #10
A good side-by-side, both down the groove with their quickest passes of the weekend. Fricke runs a tick quicker than Blinzler and gets in the show on the bump spot, knocking out Chesleigh. Blinzler just misses making the show by .007 seconds.
Jackie Fricke's incremental times: 60ft-0.954 sec., 330ft-2.455, 660ft-3.564/225.97 mph, 1,000ft-4.501.
Shaunda Blinzler's incremental times: 60ft-0.928 sec., 330ft-2.384, 660ft-3.524/217.77 mph, 1,000ft-4.496.
Left Lane: Todd Bruce Runs 5.432/272.23, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.477/272.23, Was #15
Right Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.359/269.73, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.327/270.10, Was #11
Another good side-by-side, both down the groove with decent runs. Bruce improves but doesn't make it in the qualified field. Grisel slows and will not make the show.
Left Lane: Mitch Myers Runs 5.388/264.75, Now #13; Best prior run: 5.388/262.69, Was #13
Right Lane: Aaron Olivarez Runs 5.313/264.44, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.297/263.26, Was #6
Myers goes down the groove and ties his quickest pass of the weekend and it isn't enough to get him in the show so Fricke will stay in the qualified field. Olivarez makes another good pass but doesn't improve.
Mitch Myers' incremental times: 60ft-0.938 sec., 330ft-2.446, 660ft-3.591/219.86 mph, 1,000ft-4.553.
Aaron Olivarez's incremental times: 60ft-0.923 sec., 330ft-2.420, 660ft-3.532/225.26 mph, 1,000ft-4.479.
Left Lane: James Stevens Runs 8.542/122.64, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.310/271.52, Was #7
Right Lane: Joey Severance Runs 5.283/273.72, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.293/274.39, Was #5
Stevens loses traction at the hit and gives up on the run quickly. Severance goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up a spot to fourth.
Joey Severance's incremental times: 60ft-0.911 sec., 330ft-2.355, 660ft-3.485/217.25 mph, 1,000ft-4.455.
Left Lane: Madison Payne Runs 5.306/273.50, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.269/274.55, Was #2
Right Lane: Melanie Johnson Runs 5.335/272.56, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.291/274.11, Was #5
Payne goes down the groove with a clean, straight pass but doesn't improve. Johnson makes a good run for the conditions but doesn't improve.
Madison Payne's incremental times: 60ft-0.962 sec., 330ft-2.439, 660ft-3.545/224.96 mph, 1,000ft-4.492.
Melanie Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-0.942 sec., 330ft-2.427, 660ft-3.560/221.09 mph, 1,000ft-4.516.
Left Lane: Chris Demke Runs 10.461/111.25, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.255/275.45, Was #1
Right Lane: Jon Bradford Runs 5.272/278.29, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.274/272.28, Was #3
Demke goes up in smoke at the hit and backs off of the throttle. Bradford goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round but will stay in the 13th spot.
Jon Bradford's incremental times: 60ft-0.918 sec., 330ft-2.363, 660ft-3.492/216.83 mph, 1,000ft-4.453.
