LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Pacific Division, event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 10.101/103.99, Now #1
Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 18 percent, barometer 30.07 inches, adjusted altitude 2,685 feet.
Whiteley with severe tire shake right at the hit and clicked it off.
Left Lane: Bret Williamson Runs 7.430/117.26, Now #1
Right Lane: Hunter Jones Runs 8.879/137.47, Now #2
Williamson with a good pass early and then the rpms went up and the car went silent around half track.
Jones makes a move toward the centerline and clicked it off.
Left Lane: Ulf Leanders Runs 10.813/98.48, Now #5
Right Lane: Ray Martin Runs 8.271/143.19, Now #2
Leanders with severe tire shake and clicked it off.
Martin shook and clicked it off right at the hit.
Left Lane: Annie Whiteley Runs 5.471/266.79, Now #1
Right Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.485/266.95, Now #2
Whiteley launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Annie Whiteley's incremental times: 60ft-0.945 sec., 330ft-2.462, 660ft-3.634/211.00 mph, 1,000ft-4.629.
Hough was right there with Whiteley with a great pass, straight down the groove to the number two spot.
Left Lane: Madison Gordon Runs 5.522/265.01, Now #4
Right Lane: Sean Bellemeur Runs 5.428/266.79, Now #1
Gordon kept it hooked up and makes a good looking pass to the number four spot. Madison Gordon's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.491, 660ft-3.670/210.37 mph, 1,000ft-4.673.
Bellemeur launched hard and kept it hooked up to go to the number one spot. Sean Bellemeur's incremental times: 60ft-0.929 sec., 330ft-2.425, 660ft-3.593/212.16 mph, 1,000ft-4.586.
