LAS VEGAS - Rodger Brogdon claimed a $100,000 prize Saturday at the inaugural RoofTec Las
Vegas Cash Clash during the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals. He defeated Taylor Chomiski in the final
round of the 16-car shootout, part of the RoofTec Competition Eliminator Bonus Fund [CEBF] series.
Driving a B/Altered Planetary Camaro, Brogdon chased down Chomiski's C/Super Modified Cobalt,
clocking a winning elapsed time of 7.185 seconds, completing the race -.545 under his index.
Brogdon, owner of the largest roofing business in Houston, Texas, vowed three years ago to elevate
NHRA's Competition Eliminator division. His victory comes as he promotes this highly competitive
class of racing.
"This was nerve-racking and really tough," Brogdon said. "I'm so happy to race this class and
appreciate all the comp racers across the country."
The Las Vegas event marked the third high-stakes race for the NHRA Competition Eliminator division
and Brogdon's first victory in one of the specialty races.
Brogdon began his journey to the title on Thursday, defeating Ashton Hudson in the first round. After
cold temperatures halted Thursday's action, he advanced past Adam Hickey on Friday before edging out
Clint Neff's Econo Dragster in the semi-finals on Saturday.
"It's definitely worth it," Brogdon said. "I love this class and the people in it, and I'll do
everything I can to ensure it's here for a long time."
Earlier in the weekend, Don Thomas, a competitor from NHRA Division 4, secured the CEBF series
championship, earning $250,000.
