LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 5.430/272.78, Now #14; Best prior run: 8.951/95.37, Was #22
7:15 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 61 degrees, relative humidity 30 percent, barometer 29.83 inches, adjusted altitude 2,813 feet.
Cowie goes down the groove with a good pass to get in the show in the 14th spot for now.
Left Lane: Nick Januik Runs 5.479/265.64, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.861/264.08, Was #22
Right Lane: Jon Bradford No Time, Now #25; No Prior Run
Bradford does his burnout and the chutes deploy. He gets out of the dragster and climbs over the wall.
Januik improves but not enough to get him in the show.
Left Lane: Kim Parker Runs 5.471/252.61, Now #17; Best prior run: 5.513/246.39, Was #21
Right Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 5.217/269.67, Now #1; Best prior run: 15.278/47.51, Was #24
Parker improves but not enough to get in the show. nataas goes down the groove with an impressive pass and she goes all the way to the top.

Right Lane: Mike Austin Runs 5.444/266.27, Now #17; Best prior run: 9.213/101.30, Was #24
Wolf goes down the groove with a good pass and he moves up to the fourth spot. Austin makes a clean, straight pass but he doesn't get in the field.
Kirk Wolf's incremental times: 60ft-0.943 sec., 330ft-2.410, 660ft-3.512/227.11 mph, 1,000ft-4.450.
Left Lane: Matthew Cummings Runs 8.180/104.50, Now #23; Best prior run: 5.487/259.36, Was #23
Right Lane: Tyson Parker Runs 6.850/155.78, Now #24; Best prior run: 5.709/252.47, Was #24
Cummings started off well, a .923 60 foot time, but then has problems and is out of power before he reaches half track. Parker gets about 1000 feet out and is out of power, not sure why.
Left Lane: Aaron Olivarez Runs 5.376/257.19, Now #12; Best prior run: 5.485/257.19, Was #22
Right Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.394/265.17, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.476/257.28, Was #20
A good side-by-side, both down the groove with good runs. Olivarez gets in the field in the 12th spot, Grisel the 15th spot.

Larkin makes a decent pass but doesn't improve and stays on the bump. Myers improves but make it in the qualified field.
Left Lane: Shaunda Blinzler Runs 5.333/270.54, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.394/268.06, Was #14
Right Lane: Todd Bruce Runs 5.393/273.27, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.410/272.83, Was #17
Blinzler goes down the groove with a good run and gets into the top half of the field. Bruce improves and gets in the field in the 15th spot, bumping out Larkin.
Shaunda Blinzler's incremental times: 60ft-0.926 sec., 330ft-2.384, 660ft-3.528/217.04 mph, 1,000ft-4.505.
Todd Bruce's incremental times: 60ft-0.985 sec., 330ft-2.493, 660ft-3.626/221.60 mph, 1,000ft-4.577.
Left Lane: Hunter Green Runs 5.253/273.05, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.355/270.81, Was #10
Right Lane: Jared Dreher Runs 15.029/80.08, Now #14; Best prior run: 5.385/270.48, Was #14
Green goes down the groove with a good pass and moves all the way to the second spot. Dreher went up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle.

Severance makes another good pass but he doesn't improve. Payne improves and gets in the top half of the field.
