LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 24th annual Ford Performance NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.959/191.21, Now #10; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.949/196.33, Now #9; No Prior Run
3:30 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 69 degrees, relative humidity 21 percent, barometer 29.82 inches, adjusted altitude 3,297 feet.
Johnson makes his first pass of the day and gets in the tenth spot for now. Arana makes a decent pass and gets in the ninth spot for now.
Left Lane: Geno Scali Runs 6.960/194.18, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.073/193.24, Was #14
Right Lane: Kahea Woods Runs 7.213/187.76, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.948/165.70, Was #16
Scali improves and moves up to the 11th spot for now. Woods makes a full pass and improves but stays on the bump.
Left Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 6.980/188.44, Now #13; Best prior run: 7.053/188.57, Was #14
Right Lane: Clayton Howey Runs 7.093/189.42, Now #15; Best prior run: 7.123/187.96, Was #15
Phillips goes down the roove with a decent pass and moves up to the 13th spot. Howey improves a little but stays in the 15th spot.
Left Lane: Chase Van Sant Runs 6.876/196.33, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.883/195.39, Was #7
Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 7.051/189.98, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.991/192.17, Was #14
Van Sant makes another good run and he moves up to the fifth spot for now. Oehler slows from his previous attempt.
Left Lane: Marc Ingwersen Runs 6.878/196.76, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.881/194.49, Was #7
Right Lane: Chris Bostick Runs 6.968/194.49, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.961/192.58, Was #12
Ingwersen improves a little and moves up a spot to sixth for now. Bostick slows from his previous attempt.
Left Lane: Richard Gadson Runs 6.864/195.90, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.881/194.80, Was #7
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.899/196.64, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.938/194.52, Was #8
Gadson improves and moves up to the fourth spot for now. Hall improves but stays in the eighth spot.
Left Lane: Jianna Evaristo Runs 6.876/196.79, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.870/197.48, Was #5
Right Lane: Angie Smith Runs 6.866/198.32, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.850/197.59, Was #3
Evaristo makes another good pass but stays in the fifth spot. Smith slows from her previous attempt and stays in the third spot.

Herrera was on a decent pass but had problems around half track. Smith makes the quickest pass of the round and will pick up another three bonus points.
