ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Right Lane: Kebin Kinsley Runs 4.656/190.92, Now #19; Best prior run: 4.668/167.60, Was #19
4:25 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 92 degrees, relative humidity 33 percent, barometer 29.96 inches, adjusted altitude 3,159 feet, track temperature 122 degrees.
Kinsley had problems late in the run and was off of the throttle early.
Right Lane: Tony Stewart Runs 3.816/327.25, Now #15; Best prior run: 4.586/165.03, Was #18
Stewart goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he gets in the field in the 15th spot for now.
Tony Stewart's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.172, 660ft-3.072/284.41 mph.
Left Lane: Spencer Hyde Runs 3.833/318.49, Now #16; Best prior run: 3.846/319.47, Was #16
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 3.940/266.34, Now #17; Best prior run: 3.883/292.06, Was #17
Hyde makes his quickest pass of the weekend but stays on the bump spot. Palmer was on a decent pass but looks like he may have lost the blower belt late in the run.
Left Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.775/328.30, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.775/328.30, Was #10
Kalitta goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend.
Right Lane: Jasmine Salinas Runs 3.803/325.03, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.780/330.30, Was #13
Salinas was on a decent pass but looks like she lost a cylinder late in the run.
Left Lane: Josh Hart Runs 4.685/161.07, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.776/327.99, Was #11
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.759/331.81, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.752/323.74, Was #7
Hart has problems and is off of the throttle early. millican goes down the groove with a clean, straight pass but he doesn't improve.
Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.848 sec., 330ft-2.146, 660ft-3.027/289.30 mph.
Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.782/325.85, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.762/324.93, Was #9
Right Lane: Antron Brown Runs 4.130/214.41, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.737/326.75, Was #5
Schumacher makes another good run but doesn't improve. Brown gets about 500 feet out and strikes the tires.
Left Lane: Ida Zetterstrom Runs 8.910/76.26, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.757/323.42, Was #8
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 3.732/318.67, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.727/328.61, Was #4
Zetterstrom goes up in smoke at the hit. Langdon had a cylinder out late in the run but still made a decent pass.
Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.871/289.44, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.743/318.13, Was #6
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.771/330.64, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.721/332.03, Was #3
Billy was on a good pass but it looked like he may have lost a blower belt late in the run. Steve made a full pass but did not improve.
Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.860 sec., 330ft-2.199, 660ft-3.094/285.28 mph.
Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.857 sec., 330ft-2.163, 660ft-3.040/290.57 mph.
Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.794/331.83, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.667/338.19, Was #1
Right Lane: Shawn Reed Runs 3.788/321.02, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.676/330.71, Was #2
A good side-by-side, both down the groove with good runs.
