ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Right Lane: Richard Gadson Runs 6.840/198.75, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.844/198.67, Was #7

1:13 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 88 degrees, relative humidity 41 percent, barometer 30.06 inches, adjusted altitude 2,852 feet.

Gadson's second qualifying pass was disqualified because of weight.

Gadson makes his quickest pass of the weekend but he stays in the seventh spot.

Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.824/199.89, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.826/199.13, Was #4

Smith makes a decent pass but doesn't improve. Hall improves a little but not enough to move in the order.

Right Lane: Malcolm Phillips Jr. Runs 8.580/112.15, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.020/190.44, Was #14

Smith goes down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend and he moves up to the third spot. Phillips has problems and is off of the throttle early.

Right Lane: Ryan Oehler Runs 6.961/194.25, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.956/192.88, Was #13

Tornow improves a little but stays in the 15th spot. No improvement for Oehler.

Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.780/196.99, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.935/193.81, Was #12

Johnson makes a big improvement, making the quickest pass of the round so far, and he moves up to the third spot for now.

Steve Johnson's incremental times: 60ft-1.058 sec., 330ft-2.821, 660ft-4.321/162.82 mph, 1,000ft-5.643.
