Dunn Solid Again Heading into Eliminations

ENNIS, Texas - Scott Geoffrion, Mopar Pro Stock Avenger, (7.018/197.41 3rd position) "There must be something about the Dallas air. We came here last year and made it to the finals before we got beat. It's gratifying to come here and run 7.01 in this heat. Our 60-foot time got down to a 1.05 and improved on every run besides the last. The Dodge Boys have missed enough racing on Sunday's this year and we're tired of jumping on planes Saturday night. With Terry (Adams) and Craig (Hankinson) working together I think it has done a world of good to our team. Dale's (Eicke) motor is just a bullet and it showed in me running the second-fastest speed all weekend. My teammate and I are in the show and it is time to do some damage on Sunday."

Darrell Alderman, Mopar Pro Stock Avenger, (7.035/196.97 7th position) "I think we have to be happy that we were able to get both cars into the show. We haven't qualified both to race on Sunday since the Gator's earlier this year. The Mopar Dodge Avenger has really picked up steam all weekend. We have struggled a bit on the low end, but the car has been just a bullet on the back-half of the track. Scott (Geoffrion) and I actually had the second and third fastest cars out here. It has been a tough stretch for us and to have both in the top-half of the field with cars that are running good gives us great confidence."

Mike Dunn, Mopar Top Fuel, (4.664/312.93 5th position) "We had very good and productive qualifying sessions this weekend. We go out and lay down the 4.66 right off the trailer which put us in the position to test some things. The Mopar dragster has been a hotrod for us and you have to continue to find ways to go faster. We have a real good baseline to run a 4.60 or so. Now we are trying to get that number down to a high 4.50. We have plenty of motor, not it is about applying it to the track. I like our chances tomorrow during the elimination round. We're due and this weekend is as good as any to take home some hardware."

Larry Nance, Mopar Pro Stock Avenger, (7.084/195.77 21st position) "Nobody said it was going got be easy. We were realistically hoping to make it back-to-back Sunday's for us. We kind of chased the car around a little this weekend. The engine showed plenty of power, but we struggled finding the combination down low. We had a chance to get in while the weather was good Friday night, but we didn't have enough clutch. Once the bump move down to a 7.06 heading into the afternoon session, we knew that it was going to be tough to get in. It just got too warm for the cars to make enough power to get down the track. With every pass that we make down the track we learn more about our car. We'll keep working on it and try to get it together for Englishtown."

Allen Johnson, Mopar/Amoco Pro Stock Avenger (7.131/193.84 31st position) "We didn't get in but we got better all weekend. The 7.13 I ran was a pretty good hit. I think our 60-foot time was a 1.06. We just keep on trying to look for what the problem is and make changes. We know that we have a better racecar than what we are showing. This is a funny sport and sometimes you start to over-compensate you tune-up. Will just keep chipping a way at it and try to get our finger on it before Englishtown."
