POMONA, Calif. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, 64th annual NHRA Winternationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Hunter Green Runs 5.277/275.56, Now #2; No Prior Run
Weather conditions: air temperature 70 degrees, relative humidity 47 percent, barometer 29.99 inches, adjusted altitude 2,266 feet.
Green kept it hooked up all the way down the track to go to the number two spot. Hunter Green's incremental times: 60ft-0.957 sec., 330ft-2.430, 660ft-3.535/227.15 mph, 1,000ft-4.470.
Left Lane: Shawn Cowie Runs 11.314/72.80, Now #17; Best prior run: 13.704/79.52, Was #16
Right Lane: Mitch Myers Runs 8.471/117.01, Now #16; Best prior run: 20.014/64.50, Was #17
Cowie is up in smoke right at the hit and clicked it off.
Myers starts to lose traction right at the hit and pedals it. He is back up in smoke and the car is sideways. He finally clicks it off, but gets in the show.
Left Lane: Garrett Bateman Runs 5.272/275.34, Now #2; Best prior run: 8.025/106.48, Was #15
Bateman was straight down the groove and hitting on all eight to go to the number two spot. Garrett Bateman's incremental times: 60ft-0.927 sec., 330ft-2.414, 660ft-3.523/226.43 mph, 1,000ft-4.462.
Left Lane: Julie Nataas Runs 9.040/87.90, Now #15; Best prior run: 5.667/226.13, Was #15
Nataas lost traction early and clicked it off. The car then locks up in top end.

Blinzler car dies right on the starting line.
Larkin starts to lose traction, has a quick pedal job...
Left Lane: Casey Grisel Runs 5.344/270.81, Now #5; Best prior run: 5.500/268.01, Was #11
Right Lane: Joe Maynard Runs 5.646/237.21, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.398/248.11, Was #8
Grissel kept it hooked up all the way down the track and moves into the top half of the show. Casey Grisel's incremental times: 60ft-0.933 sec., 330ft-2.435, 660ft-3.567/222.36 mph, 1,000ft-4.521.
Maynard starts to rattle the tires and he makes a quick pedal job. He then clicks it off early.
Left Lane: Ron Anderson Runs 5.571/264.55, Now #11; Best prior run: 5.486/274.05, Was #11
Right Lane: Joey Severance Runs 5.446/263.51, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.378/260.16, Was #8
Anderson started to drop cylinders early and never got it to clean up.
Severance is straight down the groove, but will not improve.

Payne starts to lose traction and pedaled it, but got loose again and clicked it off. She hen has some problems making the turn and bumps a sand barrel.
Demke is straight down the groove with the fourth quickest pass of the session. Chris Demke's incremental times: 60ft-0.932 sec., 330ft-2.405, 660ft-3.562/216.06 mph, 1,000ft-4.545.

Llamas is straight down the groove with another good looking pass. He matches his E.T. from earlier today. Baruc Llamas' incremental times: 60ft-0.955 sec., 330ft-2.473, 660ft-3.592/225.63 mph, 1,000ft-4.534.
Coughlin starts to lose traction and clicks it off.
