ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 38th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Jim Whiteley Runs 5.510/260.55, Now #1
Right Lane: Hunter Jones Runs 5.640/259.59, Now #2

Whiteley goes down the roove with a solid pass to start the session. Jones makes a good pass.

Left Lane: Christine Foster Runs 6.010/260.91, Now #4
Right Lane: Chris Marshall Runs 5.769/258.56, Now #3

Foster was really sluggish early in the run. Marshall was a little slow to the sixty foot mark but made a decent pass.

Right Lane: Andy Bohl Runs 5.596/265.80, Now #2

A good side-by-side, both down the groove with good passes. Foster gets in the third spot for now, Bohl just ahead in the second spot.

Right Lane: Kyle Smith Runs 5.667/252.85, Now #6

Whiteley goes down the groove with an impressive pass and moves into the top spot moving ahead of Jim Whiteley with her faster MPH. Smith makes a clean run and gets in the sixth spot for now.

Right Lane: Brian Hough Runs 5.524/264.12, Now #3

Another pair of clean, solid runs. Cox gets in the fourth spot for now, Hough just ahead in the third spot.

Gill goes down the roove with a good pass and gets in the fifth spot for now. McCosh got out of the groove early, moves to the left, but keeps it off of the centerline and makes a decent run to get in the sixth spot for now.

Gordon goes down the groove with the quickest pass of the round and takes the top spot to end this session. Bellemeur makes a clean pass and gets in the sixth spot.
