LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Nostalgia Funny Car at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Ryan Hodgson No Time, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.901/232.11, Was #6
Right Lane: Tim Boychuk Runs 4.857/222.40, Now #4; Best prior run: 4.889/212.23, Was #5

5:44 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 68 degrees, relative humidity 9 percent, barometer 30.15 inches, adjusted altitude 2,804 feet.

Bobby Cottrell is number one at 4.758 and Ryan Horan is on the bump spot at 5.062.

Boychuk gets a strong and stright pass right up into the top four.

Hodgson's Camaro was a strong pass too, but has the car push hard to the centerline and nail the 1000 foot reflectors. That will DQ his run, but he didn't run quicker on this pass.

Right Lane: Geoff Monise Runs 4.728/239.95, Now #1; Best prior run: 4.863/232.91, Was #5

Cottrell was on a great looking pass until right after the 660 lights, but the Camaro made a move to the center line and he had to lift.

Monise power right on down the track and pushes into the new top spot on a stellar run with a big speed.

Geoff Monise's incremental times: 60ft-0.959 sec., 330ft-2.501, 660ft-3.706/205.38 mph, 1,000ft-99.999.

Right Lane: Bill Windham Runs 12.698/64.32, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.195/176.21, Was #10

Windham's Trans Am shakes the tires loose at the green and he won't improve.

Clean and straight pass to the finish line for Morris with a little better ET, but he will stay #4.

Right Lane: Jeff Gregory Runs 5.050/202.55, Now #8; Best prior run: 5.159/188.15, Was #9

Krabell overpower the track and shuts it off early.

Gregory has a great pass going until just after the 660 lights, there there is sparks and smoke out from underneath his Camaro. He slows, but improves enough to just bump into the field by about one hundredth.

Jeff Gregory's incremental times: 60ft-1.045 sec., 330ft-2.687, 660ft-3.927/199.70 mph, 1,000ft-99.999.

Right Lane: Cory McClenathan Runs 4.909/231.52, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.930/229.04, Was #7

Horan misses bumping into the field, as the tires are smoking hard off the line.

Strong and straight pass for McClanathan, but he will stay #7.

6:11 p.m. Jeff Gregory is on the bump spot at 5.050.
