LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, 22nd annual NHRA Nevada Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Right Lane: Rick Newport No Time, Now #1
12:33 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 64 degrees, relative humidity 10 percent, barometer 30.24 inches, adjusted altitude 2,386 feet.
Ouch !Not the best ay to start
the session on your first seasonal pass.
The bike leaves well, but drives hard across the
center line and he shuts off.
Left Lane: Freddie Camarena Runs 7.047/190.75, Now #1
Right Lane: Katie Sullivan Runs 7.067/187.18, Now #2
Camarena is making his first race of the season. He runs clean to get a number on the board.
Sullivan runs right behind him.

Nice pass for Ellis, a season best.
Herrera is clean and strong to slot right in behind him.

The pair get to the finish line under power, but are well off their normal numbers.

Evaristo runs hard to after the 1000 foot light and then the bike moves hard left and cross the center line.
Arana's bike was doing the same thing, but he keep it off of the wall.

Strong pass for Sampey, but it looked like she was fighting it in the lights.
No problems for Ingwersen into the #2 spot.

Johnson has his MOJO back and makes a strong pass into the current #2 spot.
Savoie powers into the top eight on a clean pass.

Jerry Savoie's incremental times: 60ft-1.065 sec., 330ft-2.874, 660ft-4.409/159.23 mph, 1,000ft-5.753.

Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.892/200.41, Now #8
Smith is the first bike of the session into the 200 MPH rage, but there as more there, as the bike was pulling hard towards the centerline near the lights.
Gladstone has no issues and takes # for now.
Joey Gladstone's incremental times: 60ft-1.051 sec., 330ft-2.842, 660ft-4.370/159.68 mph, 1,000ft-5.710.
Matt Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.115 sec., 330ft-2.935, 660ft-4.456/161.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.771.
